The AAUW NM state convention will be in Socorro, June 3-5. The theme for the convention is “The ERA: 50 Years of Progress?”
For more information please see the NM State webpage and to register please fill out this form. NMT Student registration will be covered by the Vice President for Student Life, Dr. David Green.
The opening reception will be a pot-luck on June 3, 2022, at 6 pm, at the New Mexico GRADS facility, 310 Fisher Ave. Even if you can’t attend on Saturday or Sunday, please consider registering for the Friday reception and bringing food! A link to the pot-luck sign-up sheet will be sent out later this week.
Saturday will start with a continental breakfast from 7:30–8:45 in the Fidel Atrium, followed by the unveiling of the newest photo for Fidel, a 1972 photo of the AAUW entry for the 49ers parade. The rest of the Saturday activities (9 am–8 pm) will be in the Copper room at the Macey Center, including the banquet. Julia Brown, the Board Chair of AAUW Nationals will speak at 11 am. We are pleased to welcome back to campus Dr. Penny Boston, who will be speaking in the afternoon. The banquet will be at 6 pm and will include the annual awards ceremony.
Sunday will start with a continental breakfast at 7:30 in the Fidel Atrium, followed by a discussion on the abortion issue led by Lynn Heffron, President of the State AAUW. The convention will adjourn before noon.
