The Socorro AAUW Branch worked closely with the AAUW Tech Trek organizers to present the 2019 Tech Trek STEM workshop at the New Mexico Tech campus. 60 girls from around New Mexico were chosen to attend this week-long STEM workshop. AAUW Socorro Branch members assisted with essay reading and choice of campers, camper interviews, vehicle reservations, classroom reservations, presentations, fund-raising, field trips, tours and other logistics. 

AAUW Socorro members assisted Tech Trek workshop activities including the New Mexico Bureau of Geology/NMT field trip to study Permian and Pennsylvanian fossils of the Quebradas.  Fossils of brachiopods, crinoid stems, Walchia conifer leaves and rugose coral were found during this outing.
